    Description

    This is a pair of vintage E. B. Meyrowitz Ben Franklin style wire rim eyeglasses with case. Mr Emil Bruno Meyrowitz born on the 20th October 1852 in Greifenhagen, Prussia was a pioneer in optics. Throughout the course of his life he opened practices in Paris, New York as well as London. More than one hundred years on the name of Meyrowitz still lives and so does its unique spirit.
    The metal is a silver color, now with a bit of tarnish.
    The front of the frame is 4 1/2" across. Each side piece is 4 1/2" long.
    There do appear to have been perscription glasses as my sight is quite blurry when I put them on.
    The case is marked E.B. Meyrowitz Estab. 1875 104 East 23d St, 125 West 42d St 650 Madison Ave
    The glasses have some surface scratches and the leather case does too. Case also appears to be missing the closure.
